The Sanborn House Historical & Cultural Center
is the perfect venue for your intimate and elegant affair!

Less than a mile from Winchester Center, the Sanborn House is conveniently located off Route 3A and within five miles of Routes I-93, I-95, and 2. Situated atop four acres of rolling lawn at the edge of Myopia Hill, the Sanborn House boasts a commanding view of the area.

With its elegant exterior and elegantly appointed interior, the Sanborn House continues to be a destination for social events and community gatherings.

The Oak Room, Dining Room, and central Music Room offer spacious rooms graced with handcrafted original plasterwork and wood carvings. The rooms open to the foyer, dominated by a grand staircase and Tiffany-inspired stained glass window. French doors open to the covered veranda on the eastern side of the property. Accommodations are available for small meetings as well as large gatherings, and access to a large kitchen and pantry is available for catered events.

Stewardship
The Winchester Historical Society currently holds a long-term lease for the Sanborn House with the Town of Winchester, and manages the continued preservation efforts for the property. We have carefully restored the interior first floor, the exterior and front entrance, and have secured a permanent preservation restriction for the site. Additionally, we have sought to upgrade the House to the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) with the construction of an ADA-compliant bathroom and front entrance.

Rental Fees support the continued restoration and preservation of the
Sanborn House Historical & Cultural Center.
