Birth of Winchester Hospital

The Birth of Winchester Hospital

The Trials and Triumphs of the Early Years

In honor of the hospital’s centennial, historian Ellen Knight, author of Winchester Hospital: Our First Century, will present an illustrated talk about the events and conditions leading up to that moment and the challenges the hospital and the community overcame to keep its hospital going in its early decades.

In recognition of Women’s History Month, the program will also highlight the courageous women who founded the hospital and others (including the Winton Club and EnKa Society) who helped keep it going.
