Winchester: Then and Now

The goal of the Winchester: Then and Now project is to show the changes in the Winchester landscape through photography. The Winchester Archival Center in Town Hall houses two sources of historical images; photographs and post cards. Additional post cards from the John Cleary Collection have been photographed to expand our photographic historical record. These two sources of photographs represent the Winchester: Then.

Winchester: Then and Now Project Director Peter Engeldrum is photographing the contemporary views from the exact location of the historical photographs-when possible. With the thousands of photographs in the Town Archives as source material, this project will continue for many years to come. Our plans are to start small, and incrementally add more Then and Now photos-as time permits.

Bookmark this page a come visit often to see the fascinating changes that have occurred in Winchester!
