Winchester: Then and Now Winchester's North Reservoir taken from "Taylor Mountain". Taylor Mtn. is just south of Winthrop Hill although it is not identified on USGS maps. Date taken, unknown. Same view of the North Reservoir taken May 2002. This is taken from a slightly different position than the older photograph. The top of "Taylor Mountain" is overgrown with trees and brush and there is no view from the position of the older photo. The view today is not as spectacular as it was in the old days. You can still see the water "intake house" near the dam, but the water tower and the house to the left on the opposite hill are gone. Introduction | Main Street | Fire House | Mt.
